Day Time Halloween Party – COMICKAZE!

As we’re gearing up for our Daytime Halloween Party, the SDCAG wants to take a moment to talk about one of our partners in this spooky soirée – Comickaze!

Celebrating 24 years of multiple award winning service to San Diego, Comickaze’s Grand Opening Celebration for their brand new second location right here in Liberty Station is going on from 10/28-10/31. On Halloween, they’ll have free special edition comics and candy for all attending the Daytime Halloween Party from 11am-3pm! Come dressed as your favorite comic or movie characters for an opportunity to win some cool prizes as well! Then at 2:30. Robert Scott, owner of Comickaze, invites everyone to meet the staff at the Liberty Station location and to enjoy some cake!

We can’t wait to see you all there!

Friday Night Liberty 9/4/15

Well, another month has gone. Time flies when you’re having fun, especially with our monthly celebration of comics here at the Gallery. As usual, we had Kevin Eastman here with us, but we also had a special guest. Sara Richard, cover artist on IDW Publishing’s “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” and “Jem & The Holograms” was on hand to sign comics, sketch some ponies, and take some pictures with the fans. Tom Waltz, co-writer of  “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, was also on hand for the festivities! Continue reading Friday Night Liberty 9/4/15

Talking Shop with Scott Dunbier, Kevin Eastman, and Chris Ryall

While it was a much smaller edition, this week’s Gallery Talk was fantastic! A big thanks to Scott Dunbier for taking the time to spend with us in the SDCAG today. Passionate and informative, Scott had so much to offer our guests. He treated us to stories of hanging out with Jack Kirby, buying art from Dan DeCarlo, and the first comics that made him fall in love with the medium. Scott also showed off some sneak peaks of our next Artifacts Edition of Star Wars! Once again, thanks to Scott for sharing this with us. A special thanks to some other guests in the Gallery today – Comic Book Legal Defense Fund auction winner Nicholas Brandt, IDW Editor-In Chief Chris Ryall, and our pall and yours, TMNT co-creator, Kevin Eastman![/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]
